Green Patch Planting Week 2025
As the weather warms up and spring blossoms into summer, The Green Patch is excited to announce its 2025 gardening season at the University of Regina campus. We're gearing up to plant in the garden and inviting volunteers to participate in its annual planting week from May 20th to May 24th.
The Green Patch, a student-led garden, has been dedicated to cultivating a sustainable community garden on campus for several years. The garden is not only a source of fresh produce but also serves as a space for students and community members to connect with nature and learn about sustainable practices.
During planting week, volunteers will work in the garden from 2 pm to 7 pm every day. Everyone is welcome to participate, and no prior gardening experience is required.
Volunteers are advised to wear comfortable clothes and shoes that they do not mind getting dirty, as well as a hat, sunglasses, and other gardening gear that they might need. They should also bring their water, as well as sunscreen and bug spray.
The Green Patch's planting week is an excellent opportunity for students and community members to get involved in sustainable gardening and positively impact the environment. The RPIRG is looking forward to a successful planting week and hopes to see many volunteers at the garden.
