RPIRG 2025-26 Budget: More Resources for Our Members

19th year of social and environmental justice activism on campus

The Regina Public Interest Research Group (RPIRG) is excited to share our approved budget for the 2025–2026 fiscal year. With a projected revenue of $412,886.22 and planned expenses of $407,515.56, we’re moving into a new fiscal year with a strong financial outlook and a modest surplus of just over $5,300.

This budget reflects what RPIRG is all about: giving students the tools, funding, and opportunities they need to create change through research, education, and action; and become more active as citizens. We’ve carefully planned how we spend every dollar, ensuring it supports meaningful programming, fair wages for staff, and direct grants to students and our associate members.

More than 78% of our revenue comes from student levies, and we’re happy to see an increase in external funding, including over $86,000 in grants and sponsorships.

What We’re Funding This Year

  • Grants and Bursaries – $138,000
We’re putting nearly 34% of our budget toward student-led initiatives and professional developement, working groups, and emergency bursaries.
  • Salaries and Benefits – $194,648.64
This year we’ve adopted a new pay structure and hired three new staff to help us better serve our members and expand our programming.
  • Programs and Events – $47,000
We’re investing in our core programs and services. Our annual programs and events will see an increase and two new initiatives have been added.
  • Board Governance – $13,934.02
This covers training, retreats, and support for our student-led Board of Directors. This reaffirms our committment to good governance and growth of our team.
